How to grow a Telegram channel without fake subscribers

Channels grow from three sources: ads in other channels, cross-promotion and search inside Telegram. Buying bot subscribers gives a number but kills reach and advertiser trust. The key rule: give every source its own invite link so you can see what works.

1. Prepare the channel

A clear name with the words people search for, a one-line description of the value, and a pinned post with your best content. Telegram searches channels by name and username, so a keyword in the name is free traffic.

2. Cross-promotion

Swap posts with channels of a similar topic and size. It is the cheapest method: you only pay with space in your feed. Check the partner’s views and ERR, not subscriber count.

3. Ads in other channels

Buy posts in channels where your audience is. Check the price through views: price ÷ average views × 1000 = cost per thousand impressions. Compare channels by that number and by how many people joined through your link.

4. Telegram Ads

Telegram’s official ad platform shows ads in large public channels by topic and language. It fits when you need a steady flow of subscribers without negotiating with admins.

5. Consistency and tracking

  • Post on a plan at the same hours — subscribers get used to it.
  • A separate invite link for every ad and every swap.
  • Once a week check where people came from, who stayed and which posts kept them.

What does not work

Fake subscribers and mass messages to strangers break Telegram’s rules, lead to bans and drop ERR — advertisers spot such channels immediately.

FAQ

How do I grow a channel for free?

Cross-promotion, a keyword in the name, regular posts and inviting your audience from other social networks. Slower than ads, but free.

How much does growth cost?

It depends on the niche: channel ads are priced by views. Work out the cost per thousand impressions and compare it with how many subscribers came through your link.

How do I know which method works?

An invite link per source. In TGStudio the Growth page puts clicks and joins by link in one table.
