Telegram Stars for channel owners: how to accept and withdraw

Telegram Stars are Telegram's in-app currency for digital goods. Readers buy Stars in the app and spend them with you: on paid reactions, a subscription to a private channel, paid photos and videos, or a payment in a bot. You withdraw Stars through Fragment: per Telegram's terms, the reward becomes available 21 days later.

How readers buy Stars

Stars are bought inside Telegram: through Apple and Google in-app purchases or via the official @PremiumBot. A pack can cost different people different amounts because of taxes and app store fees.

How a channel earns Stars

  • Paid reactions: Channel Settings → Reactions → enable paid reactions. The channel owner receives all of those Stars.
  • Subscriptions: an invite link with a monthly fee in Stars.
  • Paid photos and videos right in posts.
  • Bot payments: private channel access, donations, ads — the bot issues an invoice in Stars.

How to withdraw Stars

Stars on the channel balance are exchanged for a reward through Fragment. Per Telegram's content creator terms, Star rewards can be withdrawn 21 days after they accrue, Stars stay valid for three years from receipt, and withdrawals cannot be reversed.

You can also skip withdrawing and spend Stars on promoting the channel with Telegram Ads.

Stars through the TGStudio bot

If you sell a subscription, donations or ads through the TGStudio bot, your share is credited to your panel balance: 85% to 94% depending on the plan. Payouts go in USDT TRC20 from $50 on request from the Subscriptions page. If Telegram refunds the Stars to the buyer, the paid period is removed and the payment doesn't count as revenue.
