How much an ad in a Telegram channel costs and how to price yours

An ad price is based on views, not subscribers: the advertiser pays for how many people will see the post. The working formula is average post views × CPM ÷ 1000, where CPM is the price of a thousand views in your niche.

The price formula

Post price = average views × CPM ÷ 1000. If a post averages 4,000 views and advertisers in your niche pay $5 per thousand, a fair price is about $20.

Every niche has its own CPM: finance and B2B usually cost more than entertainment. Look at prices of similar channels in catalogs and at what your past advertisers were willing to pay.

What else affects the price

  • ERR: with a higher ERR more people see the post, so the price is higher.
  • Format: a feed post, a pinned post, a post that is never deleted, a native integration.
  • Lifetime: how many hours the post stays on top and how long before it can be deleted.
  • Audience: country, language and purchasing power of subscribers.

How to show your numbers

Advertisers want subscribers, average views and ERR without screenshots. That is what a media kit is for — a page with your channel stats and slot prices. In TGStudio the media kit is built from your stats automatically and listed in the advertiser catalog.

How not to go unpaid

The most common problem is payment after the post goes out. It is safer when money is paid upfront and held by an intermediary until publication. In TGStudio the advertiser pays in Stars or USDT when booking, the post goes out automatically and the owner’s share is credited after publication.

FAQ

How much does an ad cost in a channel with 1,000 subscribers?

Work from views: if a post gets 300 views, at a $5 CPM the price is about $1.50. There is no single price per 1,000 subscribers — views and niche decide.

Should I take payment upfront?

Yes, or work through an intermediary that holds the payment until the post is live. It protects you and the advertiser.

How often can I run ads?

As long as views and joins do not drop. Watch ERR and unsubscribes after ad posts.
